Thank you to all of our supporters! We exceeded our goal and raised over $2000.

Winter Weather Preparations

The weather forecast for the next few days is looking a little frosty. Before using your wood stoves and fireplaces please have your chimneys cleaned! Fall and Winter structure fires are caused by some type of a heating device (wood stoves, furnaces and space heaters etc.) 85% of the time.

This Ford F-250 4X4 was purchased and built entirely with funds from our department fundraisers!

Our Newest Pumper - 8113

We purchased this brand new Kenworth Pumper built by Deep South Fire Trucks with funds from a FEMA grant and department fundraisers. This pumper will respond from our Station #3 in the Pleasure Heights District. See "apparatus page" for more details.

We had a very good live fire training on 08/21/2010. We have a great group of dedicated firefighters, and it is truly an honor to be the chief of this department...

Live Fire Training 2009

Firefighters from Hickory Creek and Lowell participated in a live training burn on Cow Face Road. Fire fighters ignite and then extinguish the structure several times in order to train for real life fires. Firefighters extinguished the burning building several times before allowing it to completely burn.

Live Fire Training 2008

On October 11, 2008 firefighters from Hickory Creek and Lowell participated in a live training burn on Butler Ford rd. Fire fighters ignited the structure several times and trained on forcible entry, search and rescue, ventilation techniques, and fire suppression. Firefighters extinguished the burning building several times before allowing it to completely burn.

Training burns are an important training tool to prepare firefighters for real world situations. Lowell and Hickory Creek respond together on a number of calls and this type of joint training is an essential tool to insure the continued success of those joint operations. WITH A COMBINED EFFORT OF THE VOLUNTEERS AND BOARD MEMBERS WE WILL DO EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER TO ENSURE THAT HICKORY CREEK REMAINS A SAFE PLACE TO RAISE A FAMILY.

OUR GOAL

TO BE PROPERLY EQUIPPED AND TRAINED TO SAFELY RESOLVE THE EMERGENCY, WITH THE SAFETY OF THE FIRE FIGHTERS AND RESIDENTS IN MIND. NO MATTER, WHO NEEDS OUR SERVICES TO RENDER THEM AID AND COMFORT IN THEIR TIME OF NEED.
