Chili Supper - 10/17/2009
Was a great success! Thank
you for your support!
07/31/2009 - New
Extrication Equipment Purchased

Our department recently purchased
new extrication equipment including an Amkus spreader, Amkus Speedway
Cutter, Amkus Power Ram, and a new dual output power unit. This
purchase was made possible in part by monies raised at the annual
Pancake Breakfast. A sincere thank you to everyone who donated. These tools will
greatly speed the process of rescuing those who are trapped in a motor
vehicle during an accident. All of our members have been trained and
certified through fire academy courses in the use of this equipment.
Live Fire Training
On October 11,
2008 firefighters from Hickory Creek and Lowell participated in a live
training burn on Butler Ford rd. Fire fighters ignited the structure
several times and trained on forcible entry, search and rescue,
ventilation techniques, and fire suppression. Firefighters extinguished
the burning building several times before allowing it to completely burn.
Training
burns are an important training tool to prepare
firefighters for real world situations. Lowell and Hickory Creek respond
together on a number of calls and this type of joint training is an
essential tool to insure the continued success of those joint operations.
Thank you to all who participated
